Engine Removal

The engine is out and the fuel tank too. What a mess. Old cars are very dirty. Next step will be to clean up and take apart the interior.

  1. Hi Chris,
A friend just turned me on to your site/project. This is something that's been on my mind for a while so I hope you don't mind me tagging along and maybe even asking a few questions as you go.
I'm sure it's enough to just work on your car but documenting it will only add to your load. I hope you keep it up, especially the pix.

1st question, any particular reason for this make and model? It does look easy to get at and work with.

    thx Tom

  2. Tom,
I was just looking at these old posts and didn't see your comment. Feel free to email me w/specific questions.
I chose this car because old VW air-cooled cars are easy to convert. And I chose this model because a Beetle is too small to fit a child's car seat and a stroller and some groceries. And we think this car looks cool.
